The Mark Twain House, Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, Hill-Stead Museum, Connecticut Historical Society and the New Britain Museum of American Art invite you to preview 5 Star CT, a customized cultural experience for the group tour market.

We invite group tour operators to a by-invitation-only FREE preview of the best Greater Hartford has to offer. On November 20, 2014, we will give you a day filled with three National Historic Landmarks, a treasure trove of Connecticut history, and a world-renowned collection of some of the finest American art. Located a little over two hours from Manhattan, 90 minutes from Boston, and just an hour from beautiful Mystic Seaport, central Connecticut is an easy, eye-opening destination.

Start your day with a continental breakfast at The Mark Twain Museum Center, next door to Twain’s home. 351 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT. Free parking.

9:30 AM

Cross the lawn – really! – to tour the home of Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of the best-selling antislavery novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin. A National Historic Landmark with a 21st-century tour experience designed to inspire.

Tour The Mark Twain House – home to American’s most beloved humorist – a 25-room Victorian mansion where he lived for 17 years, the period when he wrote his greatest works. Chosen by National Geographic as one of the world’s 10 best historic houses!

A DATTCO bus will deliver you 10 minutes away to Connecticut Historical Society for a glimpse at its renowned tavern sign collection and its immersive and interactive exhibit on the storied history of the Nutmeg State.


Sample a catered lunch featuring Connecticut culinary specialties in the Historical Society board room, followed by a 15 minute bus ride to Hill-Stead Museum, atop 152 acres in the charming village of Farmington.
